NABC boxers are ready for Saturday night.

Young prospects from Newark Amateur Boxing Club (NABC) are preparing to showcase their skills.

Nine club fighters, aged 11 to 26, are expected to take part in the NABC Home Show 2 at Farndon Memorial Hall on Saturday.

The full card is still being finalised, but boxers will be matched with fighters from other amateur clubs across the country.

The main event features 26-year old Jade Grierson, who made her boxing debut for NABC on its February show, getting her first shot at an amateur title,

Grierson will fight Storm Steele, of Spire Boxing Academy, for the vacant East Midlands 69-75kg Challenge Belt.

Twelve-year old Sam Hardy, returning to the ring four weeks after becoming the town’s first national minors champion, will take on Logan Rees, of Cwmgors Police Boxing Club.

Megan Williams will be hoping to celebrate her 17th birthday a few days early with victory over Salisbury ABC’s Abbie McKay.

Other NABC members on the card are Deivids Paulauskas, Alfie Briggs-Price, Mac O’Brian, Louis Clark, Adam Robb and Luke Baker.

“Back in February, our first home show sold out and we celebrated an almost clean sweep for the club,” said Suggy’s Gym senior coach and NABC matchmaker Irvine Taylor.

“We took nine victories out of ten bouts and since then we have seen more wins from several youngsters.

“NABC Home Show 2 will give everyone on the card an opportunity to show how their training over the last four months is paying off, and how much they are continuing to progress.”

Doors open at 5.30pm, with the first bell at 6.15pm.

Tickets cost £15 each for adults and £10 for children. Call Taylor on 07415 313749 for details.

No tickets will be available on the door as they are expected to be sold out before the event.
