Homes evacuated due to fire

Police evacuated neighbouring properties after a fire in a shed at Church Street, Bilsthorpe, on Saturday was found to involve two gas cylinders.

A firecrew from Edwinstowe was first on the scene but called for assistance from two other stations.

A water jet was used to put out the fire which also involved children's play equipment, three motorbikes and neighbouring hedgerow.

The affected householders were allowed to return home once the danger had passed.
