Hospital decision looms
Published: 11:11, 17 June 2010
A decision is due to be made this afternoon over the future of Newark Hospital's emergency unit.
The board of NHS Nottinghamshire County will meet at the Deincourt Hotel on London Road, Newark, to either accept or reject a proposal for a 24 hour unit.
They are expected to make a decision on the reclassified unit's name - either a minor injuries unit "plus" or an urgent care centre.
The board will also decide on the future of mental health services for elderly people in the town.
