An exclusive charity dinner is due to transform the nave of Southwell Minster, with the aim of boosting funds for the homeless charity Framework.
It will be the first time this kind of event has been held in the 900 year-old cathedral.
The special dinner on Tuesday July 26 is being held by the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire Sir John Peace, who has pledged to raise £100,000 to support the work of the charity with vulnerable young people.
Sir John, from Caunton, who is a Nottinghamshire-born businessman with an international reputation, said: “The economy remains fragile and young people are at greatest risk: joblessness among young people is far too high.
"I am particularly impressed by Framework and that is why I am lending my support as High Sheriff to the work the charity is doing to help young people get a good start in life."
Some 300 people will have the opportunity to enjoy an evening meal in the magical setting of the mediaeval nave of Southwell Minster.
The Cantamus Choir will be supplying the entertainment. The evening will also include a fund raising auction.
Framework Chief Executive Andrew Redfern said: “Like all charities our ability to support people in need is going to be drastically reduced by cuts in public expenditure.
"At a time of severe financial difficulty Framework also celebrates its 10th anniversary this summer and is launching an urgent appeal for funds to enable it to continue the range of its work."
Tables for ten people are available for £1,000 and a limited number of individual tickets will be released for £100 on Wednesday June 29.
The price includes pre-dinner drinks, a three course meal with coffee and wine.
Tickets can be obtained from the Southwell Minster shop at Church Street, Southwell, Notts NG25 0HD. Telephone 01636 812933.
