High winds have been reported and authorities have advised what to do before and during a storm.

"Please be prepared,” said a spokesman from the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

"Only travel if you need to.

"If you do go out, please take extra care driving and allow more time than usual for your journeys.

"Drive to the conditions and be aware of debris on the roads.

"Be cautious when passing high-sided vehicles on open roads.

"Make sure everything is secure in your garden, by ensuring loose items outside including furniture, toys, and trampolines are moved into a shed or garage.

"If this isn't possible, ensure they are secured down to prevent them from blowing away or getting damaged.

"It is important that businesses also check their outside areas for unsecured items, like seating, umbrellas, and gazebos.

"If you are out and about, please be careful of falling trees and debris."
