Beaumond House have new water cooler thanks to Hayley's fundraising
The owner of a café has raised more than £600 for Beaumond House Community Hospice through its gift a coffee scheme.
Hayley Schofield, of Southwell’s All Mine Cakes, presented £667 to the hospice on Monday, who used the funds to purchase a water cooler.
“It seemed the right thing to do,” said Hayley, a former nurse, who has strong connections to the charity.
“Everybody knows somebody who has been helped by their service. It’s a charity everybody can relate to.”
Hayley said 222 cups of coffee were solid to raise the funds, which are still available on the café’s menu to support the running costs of the cooler.
Zoe Appleyard, facilities manager at Beaumond House, said: “Hydration plays a vital role in palliative care and having access to fresh cool water encourages hydration and allows patients to independently help themselves to a drink.”
