The A617 between the A46 Cattle Market roundabout in Newark, Nottinghamshire and the Fox Inn in Kelham is now closed by police because the road has been deemed as impassable




Police have announced that they have had to close another road due to flooding.

The A617 between the A46 Cattle Market roundabout in Newark and the Fox Inn in Kelham is now closed because the road has been deemed as impassable.

"Road conditions in the area continue to be hazardous and challenging," said a spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police.

"We strongly advise that drivers should only travel if their journey is essential."

The A1 remains closed north of Newark from North Muskham to Upper Morton.

Advice has been issued by the Newark and Sherwood District Council about the highly likely possibility of river levels rising.

A major incident has been declared across the county.
