Deliveroo launches in Newark, featuring KFC, Subway and number of independent businesses
A number of independent businesses have joined a food delivery service which launches in Newark today.
Deliveroo, an app and website that enables residents to check out and order food in their area, is available in Newark.
Businesses and shops currently available on the app are; Co-operative, One Stop, KFC, Subway - Robin Hood Walk, Koinonia Restaurant, Bentleys Fish & Chip Restaurant, Castlegate Fish Bar, Green Olive, Pizza Hot, Roots Burgers, SKM Store, Stray's Coffee, Subway, The Brews Brothers Micropub Coffee House, The Everest Inn Restaurant, The Ranch Cafe, Town Kebab House, Town Pizza House
Deliveroo said it would continue to add new local restaurants, takeaways and convenience stores to the platform over the coming months, with the likes of Pizza Express joining as lockdown eases.
Harrison Foster, regional director in the UK, said the launch would be a major boost to small restaurant businesses across the town, which will be able to reach new customers and grow their restaurant businesses through offering delivery.
"Launching in Newark-on-Trent is a key milestone for Deliveroo," said Harrison.
"Newark-on-Trent has a thriving foodie community and a wide range of restaurants and retailers, so we’re excited to connect them.
"We look forward to working with our new partners to reach a new customer base and expand their businesses.”
Deliveroo will be looking for up to 50 people to become riders.
Those who work as riders will be able to work when they want and where they want, delivering food and groceries to customers’ doors in as little as 20 minutes.
In celebration of the launch in Newark-on-Trent, Deliveroo are offering new customers £10 off their first order when they sign up to the platform using the code: WEHAVEARRIVED4.
This is an offer for new customers only, with a minimum spend of £15 or more for one redemption per person.
Deliveroo is also offering all customers 20% off on selected restaurants until May 17.
