Newark-Lincoln train services cancelled due to railway strike
Train services linking Newark and Lincoln will not operate today (Wednesday) because of industrial action.
Railway services will be drastically reduced across the East Midlands Railway network and customers are advised to only travel by train if necessary.
The action will also affect services on the East Coast Main Line, which runs through Newark Northgate.
Four railway strikes have just now been announced, set to happen on July 27, July 30 and August 18 and 20.
Today's action will affect EMR intercity, connect and regional services running only between 7.30am and 6.30pm on selected routes.
On most destinations there will only be one train running per hour, however certain lines of route will be fully closed — without rail replacement bus services.
For the train tickets for Wednesday, a refund request can be claimed, either under ‘My Bookings’ or in the app under ‘My Tickets’.
Railway services running on tomorrow (Thursday) will also be affected as they only start after 7am with reductions happening throughout the day.

The RMT union advises those who want to travel to plan ahead and consider having extra time in case of possible disruptions or short notice changes.
