Wellow House School celebrates Independent Schools Inspectorate inspection success

An independent school has celebrated a successful inspection — with praise for its ‘robust leadership’ and ‘personalised educational support’.

Wellow House School, in Wellow, met all the independent school standards in its latest inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

The outcome reflects the ‘outstanding efforts’ of its leadership team, staff, and governors, and highlights the strong safeguarding, health and safety practices, and high-quality education offered by the school.

Head Stephen Thompson said: “We are proud that the inspectors have recognised the excellent work taking place across Wellow House.

“Our school community has worked incredibly hard, and this result reflects our deep commitment to providing a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment for every child.”

The ISI report praised the school’s strong safeguarding culture, robust leadership, and the personalised educational support offered to all students.

Parents also echoed the sentiment, and one said: “My child isn’t just a number on the roll — she is treated as an individual, nurtured, and supported to do her best.”

There was also praise for the school’s broad curriculum, highlighting “small class sizes, on site swimming every week, specialist sports, music and drama staff”.

Commenting on Wellow House’s ethos, one parent described the school as a “nurturing, family environment with friendly parents and a strong community spirit,” while another stated added: “Wellow House has already demonstrated a strong commitment to my daughter’s personal and academic growth, offering a rich curriculum, dedicated staff, and a vibrant community.
