Nottinghamshire Police cordon and road closure remain as death of woman in Colston Bassett continues to be investigated




A police cordon and road closure remain today as detectives continue their investigations into the death of a woman.

Officers were called to an address on Hall Lane, Colston Bassett, shortly before 6.30pm on Saturday.

A woman was found dead inside the property and a 48-year-old man was arrested in connection on Sunday morning.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the death and as such Hall Lane is shut with a cordon in place.

Detective Inspector Mel Crutchley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts are with this woman’s family and friends. We have a team of detectives who are working hard to establish the circumstances and our inquiries are ongoing.”

Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council Simon Robinson: “We are shocked to hear of the tragic news that reached us and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the individual.

“We will do all we can to support the community as it comes to terms with the news of this incident.”
