Man discovered with drugs and weapons at Newark Northgate Station then convicted for possession of child sex images
A man discovered with class A drugs and weapons at Newark Northgate Station soon found himself also convicted for the possession of child sex images.
23-year-old Connor Mussell was stopped at the train station in January.
The search by Nottinghamshire British Transport Police recovered a knife, taser and drugs.
But these charges soon resulted in something much more serious when CID officers investigating the offences discovered disturbing footage on Mussell's phone.
He was further charged with six counts of making indecent images of children.
Mussell, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on Monday.
Nottinghamshire British Transport Police said he was handed 11 months in prison, five years on the Sex Offenders' Register, a 24-month supervision order, drug rehabilitation order and told to do unpaid work.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also imposed on Mussell, which will restrict his access to, and usage of, the internet.
