Wiseguys menswear to move to new Newark flagship store in joint venture with Wisegirls womenswear

A Newark business is preparing to open it's new flagship store in the town.

Wiseguys, on Middlegate, is moving to a larger shop on Stodman Street as part of a joint venture with related womenswear company WiseGirls, owned by Wiseguys managing director Mike Willis' daughter Samantha John.

The new shop, formerly Dorothy Perkins, will feature both womenswear and menswear from brands including Capri, Seasalt, Ben Sherman and Wierdfish.

Mike Willis said: "We've done one already in Boston, so we are doing the exact same for this store.

"It's going to be our flagship, as it's the biggest store we have ever taken on board — over 4,000 square feet."

The father and daughter duo have multiple stores across Melton Mowbray, Boston and Sleaford, however the new Newark store will be only the second joint store.

Mike added: "There will be some newer brands we will be introducing. There will be a lot more additional designs and product types than what's there at the moment.

"We've just basically been going through the legal side of things, dotting the Is and crossing the Ts. We are now just finalising a few bits inside the store and then we will be ready to rock and roll, to get in and start having the shop fitted."

The shop is expected to open in mid July.
