High water at Kelham Bridge on A617 (Kelham Road) causes tailbacks towards Newark

A closed road is causing traffic problems in Newark.
Kelham Bridge, on the A617, has been closed since Friday and will remain closed until further notice.
As a result of this, traffic is slow moving on Great North Road and the A46 bypass.
On Sunday, a spokesperson for Nottinghamshire County Council said: "The A617 will remain closed as water is running off into an adjacent field.
"Please use an alternative route.
"There is a lot of water running off the fields causing flooding and standing water.
"Do not ignore road closure signs."
