Nottingham Magistrates' Court listings: Covid-19 key worker, from Edingley, escapes driving ban




This week's Nottingham Magistrates' Court listings have been released.

Cases in the Newark area include a covid-19 key worker who was caught using her mobile phone while driving.

A COVID-19 key worker caught using her mobile phone while driving escaped a driving ban because of he effect it would have on her team in the fight against the virus.

Kate Porter, 32, of Mansfield Road, Edingley, was found guilty of the offence, which was committed in Newark, and was fined £155 and told to pay costs of £117 costs.

Her driver’s licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

A MAN who had unsupervised contact with a child in breach of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order was fined £120.

Shane Marshall, 32, of Sheppards Court, Balderton, denied having unsupervised contact with the two-year-old girl without a reasonable excuse but was found guilty after a trial.

Marshall must pay £652 costs.

A DRIVER who was behind the wheel while unfit through drink was banned from the roads for a year.

Dean Rodgers, 22, of Whitewater Road, Ollerton, pleaded guilty to the offence and was also fined £200 with costs of £117 awarded against him.

Rodgers further admitted having over the subscribed limit of a drug in his system, for which he was fined £300.
