Kite-flying fun for children in Newark

Children were invited to have a go at kite flying at Sconce and Devon Park, Newark, on Sunday.
About 20 members of Midlands Kite Flyers and spent the day in the park for the fly-in.
Chairman Mr Bill Souten, who founded the group almost 40 years ago, said there was not a lot of wind in the morning, but conditions improved in the afternoon.
“About a dozen children came along and had a go,” he said. “It is a wonderful park.”
The kite flyers will return to the park on June 11.
