Crew from Southwell Fire Station visit Bleasby Church of England Primary School

A fire crew visited a primary school as part of its bringing learning to life project.

Southwell Fire Station, along with Nottinghamshire Police and GPs, spoke to pupils at Bleasby Church of England Primary School

“Around this time of year we are always learning about people who help us,” said Mrs Nicky Blacknall, foundation lead.

“They did a bit of a talk about what they do on a day-to-day basis and the children asked them a couple of questions at the end.

“They (the fire service) brought a fire engine to the school too and children got to see the equipment and how its used.”

Mrs Blacknall said the visit was important to the children — aged four to five — because learning from those in the job means more to them.
