Soldiers from the Mercian Regiment will box Nottinghamshire fighters to raise money for the regiment benevolent fund and cancer charities on May 5.

The bouts will take place at Headquarters 49 East Brigade at Chetwynd Barracks, Chilwell, starting at 6.30pm.

It is hoped 1,000 tickets will be sold. These will comprise 200 ring-side seats with an Indian meal prior to the boxing, with a further 800 standard tickets with meal included in the general seating meal and bar area.

Organisations, families or clubs, are welcome to block book tables of nine ringside seats.

This will include a Regimental host to escort them and their guests while watching the boxing and later to the Officers and Sergeants messes for drinks.

Rounds can be sponsored, with the winning fighter photographed receiving his trophy from the sponsor or their representative.

The sponsor will be announced prior to each bout commencing.

Organisation logos and information can be projected on to the main arena screen if provided.

Information on this event can be obtained from RHQ Mercian Regiment with tickets available from Miss Sarah Cotterill by phone 0115 946 5415, or email rhqmercian.notts@btconnect.com

Ringside tickets are £40 each, standard tickets £25 each, sponsoring a bout (includes one ringside or two standard tickets) is £100.

Gates open 6.30pm, curry supper 7 pm and first bout 8 pm.

Raffle prizes and support are appreciated.
