Police in Newark are investigating a theft where a number of televisions were stolen from a lorry parked at Newark Cattlemarket.

Officers were called to the lorry park at around 3am this morning after a driver was woken by a group of men who had cut a hole in his curtain-side trailer and stolen more than 150 42” LG LCD TVs.

The driver saw two men drive away in a large truck, possibly a MAN model, which was red at the rear, while three other men are believed to have driven off in another vehicle that was parked in a lay-by on the A46.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, who saw a large truck driving away from the lorry park or who has any information at all about who may have been responsible, should call Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 99 99 quoting incident 000060-17052010.
