Man arrested after bag snatch

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a 75-year-old woman had her handbag snatched in Newark.
He was arrested near the scene following the incident on Albion Road, Newark at around 10am on Tuesday morning.
The robbery caused the woman to fall to the ground resulting in injuries to her hands and elbows.
He was then further arrested on suspicion of a burglary that occurred in the area yesterday (May 21) and eight counts of shop thefts which happened in the Newark area over the past few weeks.
He remains in police custody.
The victim’s handbag was recovered and returned to her.
