Man, 22, arrested after report of knife-point robbery at Beaumond Cross, Newark
Newark Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a knife-point robbery in Newark.
Officers were called to a report that a man in his 30s was punched in the head before having his mobile phone stolen at around 5.20pm at Beaumond Cross yesterday (Friday).
It was also reported that the suspect held a knife against the victim’s throat during the incident.
Police later found a man hiding in a garden and arrested him on suspicion of robbery.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis, failing to attend Newark Police Station on a date in February and failing to attend Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on a date in March 2020.
He remains in police custody.
