Newark Police chased the suspected burglar on foot for six minutes.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary following a police chase in Newark.

Newark Police were called to Middlegate last night after reports of a man acting suspiciously.

Officers arrived on the scene within four minutes and a chase took place, with officers apprehending the suspect after a six minute foot chase.

The offender was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
