Man arrested on suspicion of drink-driving

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

The 58-year-old male was arrested this morning (Monday) near Long Bennington.

The incident is believed to have occurred just before 8am when the driver was seen in Fernwood.

The driver was stopped by an off-duty officer who called and alerted his colleagues to the potential incident.

The male was found to be nearly three times over the legal limit at the police station.

He will remain in custody until he is interviewed later this afternoon.
