Fly-tipping fine for man who paid someone without waste carrier licence to discard of rubbish in Farnsfield

A man paid someone without a waste carrier licence to get rid of his rubbish and ended up with a fine.

Newark and Sherwood District Council's environmental protection officers are continuing to crack down on fly-tipping around the district, most recently with a guilty verdict and fine for perpetrator Chris Guilman.

He was found guilty after he paid a company without a waste carrier licence to dispose of his waste, which was then fly-tipped on Combs Lane in Farnsfield.

The council is strongly advising residents to check for a valid waste carrier licence on the Environment Agency website.

If your waste is not disposed of legitimately it will be your responsibility and will be considered fly-tipping.

You could also be fined even if you thought the person disposing of the waste had a licence.
