Man in court charged with theft of puppies

A man has been charged after two five-week old Staffordshire bull terriers were stolen from a house in Newark.
Adam Smith, 20, of no fixed abode, has been charged with burglary and making off without paying a taxi driver on the same day.
Smith is suspected of stealing the puppies from a house in Summers Road between 6pm on Saturday November 24 and 12.30am on Sunday November 25.
The animals were found at addresses in Top Valley, Nottingham, on Saturday. They were unharmed and have since been reunited with their mother and their owner.
Mr Smith is currently remanded into custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today.
