A man has been released on conditional bail after a baby was abandoned in Newark.
The crying infant, who could be as young as one, was found alone on the corner of Parliament Street on Thursday at around 2.15pm.
A man was allegedly seen running away from the boy before police responded to the incident and took the child into safety.
The young child is now safe and well.
A 24-year-old man was later that day arrested in connection with the incident but has now been released on conditional bail.
