Market cancelled again

Newark market was cancelled again today for the fourth time this week.
Seven traders selling perishable goods were allowed onto the market, which had been cancelled because of high winds.
Today’s Met Office forecast for Newark shows gusts of up to 33mph.
Traders again criticised Newark and Sherwood District Council’s decision to close the market, which the council say is for health and safety reasons.
Both the main markets on Monday and Wednesday were cancelled, along with yesterday’s flea market.
A full report of the market closures will be in next week’s Advertiser.
