McDonald's hammer attack

Police have made an arrest after a man was hit on the head with a hammer in the McDonald's carpark at Lincoln Road, Newark, yesterday morning.

Nottinghamshire Police say the victim's injuries are not serious.

The carpark was taped off by police immediately after the incident and the scene examined.

A man remains in custody today after being arrested on suspicion of assault.
