The Castle Restaurant, Castlegate, Newark, opens its doors to public

A new restaurant has opened its doors to the people of Newark.

The Castle Restaurant, on Castlegate, is a tea and coffee shop by day and Mediterranean-influenced restaurant by night.

It will be a welcome addition to the town, with Il Castello just up the road having closed last month.

It serves a selection of coffees, teas, cakes and sandwiches between 11am and 4pm, and quality Mediterranean food from 6pm to 10pm, Monday to Saturday.

The restaurant has two areas. The vaulted cellars offer a unique dining experience with several intimate dining areas for 34 covers.

There is a further dining area to the ground floor with 32 covers.

Customers should call 01636 679284 to make a booking, as covid regulations may affect how many people can be seated.
