Money raised in memory of motorcyclist presented to Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service
A cheque was presented to Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service in memory of a popular motorcyclist.
Friends of Alex Maniurka gathered at The Wheatsheaf, Dry Doddington, to hand over the cheque for £900 to Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service.
The money was raised in memory of Alex, who died in a road accident in September.
The cheque was presented by Mr Maniurka’s partner, Erica Hine, and received on behalf of LEBBS by volunteer rider Ed Bright, of Dry Doddington.
They are pictured presenting the cheque in front of the bench dedicated to Mr Maniurka at The Wheatsheaf.
Chairman and secretary of the blood bikes service Charles and Irene Douse, attended the presentation and were grateful for the donation to the charity.
The donation will help keep volunteers ready, day and night, to respond to any medical transport issue throughout the 2,700sq miles of Lincolnshire.
Blood Bikes volunteers transport medical items needed urgently, collecting and delivering items between Boston, Grantham, Lincoln County, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Goole and Hull hospitals, and the regional NHS Blood and Transplant Centre in Barnsley.
