Businessmen and women were celebrated at the Newark Business Awards on Friday.

In a glamorous ceremony at Newark Showground on Friday night, hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Melvyn Prior, the Newark Business Awards celebrated the finest businesses in the Newark area who go the extra mile for their staff, clients and customers.

The night got into full swing with a drinks reception, followed by a speech from Claire Lomas MBE - an inspirational speaker - who was paralysed in 2007 from a riding accident, but went on to conquer the London Marathon in 2012 raising £210,000 for spinal research.

And to finish off the evening, winners were announced in the awards ceremony which saw small local businesses chuffed with their achievement.
