Total of 578 coronavirus cases reported in Newark and Sherwood from Friday, March 18 to Monday, March 21, according to Public Health England




A total of 578 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood over the weekend, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Ashfield 39,236 cases (up 568) Bassetlaw 36,386 (up 440) Broxtowe 34,297 (up 487) Gedling 37,571 (up 472) Mansfield 34,755 (up 516) Newark and Sherwood 35,786 (up 578) Rushcliffe 37,863 (up 527) Nottingham city 103,576 (up 919) and Nottinghamshire 255,894 (up 3,588).

In the last seven days there have been 970 positive cases recorded in Newark and Sherwood, which is up 264 cases on the previous seven-day period.

There have been no new deaths reported in Newark and Sherwood within 28 days of the person testing positive for the virus, leaving the total at 272.

Over the weekend, 20,319,434 (up 317,807) patients in the UK tested positive and 163,679 (up 293) people died within 28 days of positive test.

The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to March 20 is 52,747,246 (up 7,006) the number with the second dose is 49,312,977 (up 9,708) and the booster 38,648,211 (up 10,873).
