A further yellow warning of thunderstorms has been issued by the Met Office.

The hot weather this week has sparked scattered thunderstorms across the East Midlands, and the Met Office has issued a further yellow warning, beginning this afternoon at 3pm until 4am on Friday morning.

The Met Office said: "Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures, and where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

"There is a chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost."
