He and other MPs have continued to lobby for a fix to the unsafe slip roads up and down the A1, which have been the sights of tragic incidents in recent years.

During the meeting, Mr Jenrick raised the A46 dualling with the minister who assured him the announcement of the new route would be imminent.

In the meeting I also raised to the Minister when the preferred route would be published for the A46 dualling. The Minister assured me that the announcement of the new route would be imminent.

The long-awaited works would complete the dualling of the road between Widmerpool and Winthorpe.
