  Why on earth do we need another tanning salon in Newark? We as a town, need decent shops to draw in trade and keep shoppers local instead of them going out of town. I am sure if there was a poll of people from Newark, tanning salons, nails bars, and vape shops would not be high on the list of needed businesses. Newark is not the place it was years ago, a bustling market town with a good variety of shops and market stalls to visit. It is such a shame.

I remember the Local Planning Authority threatening legal action against a pub for painting the exterior in a colour not approved by them, yet since then we have had a number of appalling shop fronts appear. All this is happening at a time when grants are being distributed to (rightly) try and return other frontages to something more in line with their original design. What is going on?
  Why don't you do some actual reporting and get yourselves down to Castle House and ask these questions? People would be interested to know why some rules apply to some and not others.

  This is a blight on our once beautiful town. It cheapens the area and proves that Newark is finished.
