Seven-year-old Rosie Wood got a glimpse into the future on Saturday as one of 100 Nottingham Forest season ticket holders who won an online ballot to meet the club's new Kuwaiti owners.

Rosie and her father Steve, from Southwell, met the Al Hasawi family immediately after Saturday's press conference which unveiled them to fans and media.

Mr Wood said he was very impressed by what he heard and the credentials of the Al Hasawi family to lead Forest back to the Premiership.

He was also impressed by the amount of time they spent with the fans, his daughter describing Abdulaziz Al Hasawi as like a favourite uncle after he whispered to her that he hoped her children would see Forest lift the European Cup once again.

Mr Wood was asked who his choice for manager to replace Steve Cotterill would be, and replied (former manager) Billy Davies.

Probed by media from Britain and the Middle East, the Al-Hasawi family promised "passion not profit" at the press conference.

They recognised the work of former owner, the late Nigel Doughty, who was raised in Newark, and announced the club's academy will be named the Nigel Doughty Academy.

"The Nigel Doughty Academy is something we want to develop and produce top-quality players," said Abdulaziz Al Hasawi.

The enormity of the task ahead was demonstrated by the fact there were just 14 senior professional players at the press conference, six out of contract players having left.

Four Kuwaiti footballers will have trials.

It was revealed chairman Frank Clark will become an ambassador for the club and chief executive Mark Arthur, who lives near Newark, will continue with the club.
