Belvoir Castle was used as a location for Netflix’s The Crown
New images of scenes from Netflix’s The Crown filmed at Belvoir Castle have now been released.
Belvoir Castle has featured in all three series of the the royal historical drama, and the third series was released on Netflix on Sunday.
The Netflix cast and crew have spent over a month filming at the castle, shooting key scenes both inside and out, and you can see Olivia Coleman, starring as Her Majesty The Queen, having dinner in Belvoir’s State Dining Room, before retiring to the Elizabeth Saloon.
Helena Bonham Carter, who takes on the role of Princess Margaret, is also shown outside with the turreted Regency Castle, standing in for Windsor.
Her Grace, The Duchess of Rutland, said: “It was a great honour to have The Crown filming in our home for a third season.
"We are delighted to have some of the best costume makers and directors using Belvoir and some of our favourite rooms, such as the Elizabeth Saloon, used as replicas for Windsor Castle scenes. We wish this series as with all the previous series huge success."
To celebrate the castle's involvement in the hit TV series, Belvoir Castle is launching a Crown inspired Afternoon Tea for 2020, offering visitors the opportunity to take tea in the State Dining Room, one of the locations used for filming, which is available to book online for Mother’s Day (March 22, 2020) and National Afternoon Tea Week (August 10-16, 2020).
