Ruth Edwards has been selected as Rushcliffe's Conservative parliamentary candidate
Ruth Edwards has been selected as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Rushcliffe for the next General Election.
Selected by members of Rushcliffe Conservative Association last night (Wednesday), Ruth works as a cyber security expert, advising governments and global businesses about how to stay secure online.
At the 2017 General Election, Ruth was the Conservative candidate for the Welsh constituency of Ceredigion, and it was during that election campaign that she met her future husband Owen.
On being selected, Mrs Edwards said: “I am delighted to be the Conservative candidate for Rushcliffe at the next General Election. People often say they want MPs with real-world experience, which is exactly what I have with my career in business and the tech sector.
“I can’t wait to start knocking on doors and speaking to as many people as possible about their priorities for our area.
"My campaign to become the next Member of Parliament for Rushcliffe will focus on what matters most to people, like recruiting more new police officers, investing more in our NHS and helping with the cost of living.
“Only Boris Johnson and the Conservatives will get Brexit done and respect the referendum, so we can put Britain back on the road to a brighter future and help deliver a strong economy to fund the public services we all rely on here in Rushcliffe.”
