Newark by-election was "my favourite ever" says Nick "The Flying Brick" Delves of the Monster Raving Loony Party
Nick "The Flying Brick" Delves has declared the Newark by-election his "favourite ever" and makes special mention of the setting at Kelham Hall.
Mr Delves, who finished seventh with 168 votes in a vote won by Conservative Robert Jenrick, included the praise in an expenses return letter to returning officer Andrew Muter.
It says: "Thank you for a wonderful by-election and count, it really was my favourite one ever. What a fabulous setting and with a bar too!"
Among Mr Delves' policies was the abolition of gravity, turning Newark Castle into an intergalactic space port, introducing Piranha to the River Trent and making all European trains run on gravy.
Previously, he stood as a candidate in seats including Derbyshire Dales, Crewe and Nantwich, and Oldham East and Saddleworth.
