Newark Mencap members create artwork to honour late Queen Elizabeth II and her son King Charles III
A day care centre for people with learning disabilities created a collage of pictures to honour the late Queen and new King.
The artwork was created by 12 members of The Avenue day centre attendees and Mencap staff.
The artwork incorporates different pictures and quotes referring to their lives throughout the years.
“They used newspapers and magazines, cut them and made a big collage that displays the life of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III,” said Diane Bearcrost, one of the centre managers.
“Our clients are very happy. They look at the pictures and think a lot about the Queen, they really liked her,
“We taught them that there’s a new King now,” she added.
It is displayed at the entry of the Newark Mencap day centre at the Congregational Church in Newark.
For the Queen’s platinum jubilee, the day centre sent a poem to the monarch, and was delighted to receive a reply from the Palace.
Now, they have written a poem to King Charles III and patiently await a reply.
