Newark delegate delighted with leadership result

A member of the Newark and District Constituency Labour Party was at the announcement of Labour's new leader, Ed Miliband, in Manchester on Saturday.

Trish Gurney, the constituency party's vice-chairman, said she was delighted with the result.

The constituency had chosen to support Mr Miliband's campaign and Trish Gurney had also canvassed for the younger Miliband, who narrowly beat his brother David.

"Everybody is glad the contest is over now and we can all unite behind a new leader," she said.
