Newark FC to face Mansfield Town or Basford United in Notts Senior Cup semi-final

Newark FC will face the winner of Mansfield Town vs. Basford United in the semi-final of the Notts Senior Cup.

Newark, who knocked out Notts County in the quarter-final a fortnight ago, will learn their fate when the sides meet on March 22.

A date for the semi-final is yet to be announced.

Carlton Town host Nottingham Forest under-23s on the other side of the draw.

The draw for the cup followed a successful Saturday for Newark, who beat Eastwood 2-1 thanks to a 13th-minute Mason Rowley penalty and a debut goal from Nyle Blake after 61 minutes.

Ben Henderson hit a late consolation as Newark moved a convincing eight points clear of the relegation zone after their second successive win.

This evening, The Highwaymen travel to Heanor Town.

On Saturday, they face an away trip to mid-table Heather St. John’s (3pm kick-off).
