X Factor semi-finalists Rough Copy performed for pupils at the Magnus Academy, Newark, this afternoon.

The trio - Kaz Ajobe, Sterling Ramsey and Joey James - who came fourth in last year's contest, performed songs including their new single Street Love for youngsters before holding a question and answer session.

Pupils quizzed the band, who are performing at Newark Festival a week tomorrow in support of Union J, on their X Factor appearances, their career and what it was like to be a performer.

The band then turned the session round on the audience asking the students about what they wanted to be when they grow up and what their favourite hobbies were.

Rough Copy are performing along with other former X-Factor contestants including Union J, who replaced Rough Copy on the 2012 version of X-Factor when the band were forced to pull out due to visa issues, Luke Friend and Loveable Rogues.

Kaz said: "It's going to be great to share the stage with them again."

Sterling said: "It should be a good festival. It'll be exciting."

Sterling said he'd enjoyed taking part in the question and answer session with youngsters at the school and particularly being able to turn the tables on the youngsters.

He said: "It's good going to schools and hearing what the kids wanted to do takes you back to when we were at school and they're saying what they want to be which will probably change in a couple of years."

Joey revealed he had visited Newark before while working as an electrician and was looking forward to seeing more of the town when here for the festival.
