Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue have reported that the defibrillator at Newark Fire Station is missing.

FIRE crews in Newark are appealing for information after their defibrillator went missing this week.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: “Sometime over the past few days, the Community Heartbeat Defibrillator outside the front door of Newark Fire Station has been removed.

“We are hopeful that it was taken for a genuine medical emergency and that it performed as it should. Unfortunately, we can’t find any record of anyone reporting its use to our colleagues in the Ambulance Service.

“If anyone has the defibrillator can you please return it so that our partners in Community Heartbeat can get it inspected, serviced and ready to go again.

“We’re sure that we’d all prefer to have a working defibrillator ready to hand, should our loved ones need emergency attention, rather than the current empty box.”
