Newark homeless charity Branching Out receives gift from Saint-Gobain Formula
For most, Christmas seems a long time ago, but some homeless people are still enjoying the extra gifts they received this year thanks to donations by Balderton-based Saint-Gobain Formula.
Their £500 donation to Branching Out, which supports more than 50 16 to 21-year-olds in the area, allowed the young people’s key workers to buy dressing gowns and slippers as well as toys and books for some of the young people who have babies and young children.
Amelie Dickinson, head of human resources for Saint-Gobain Formula, which runs nearby gypsum operations Bantycock Quarry and Jericho Works, said: “Branching Out does an amazing job offering a warm, welcoming home and such practical support.
“We are so pleased that our donation was able to make such a big difference to these young people.”
Jess Fell, deputy manager of Branching Out, said: “Branching Out Newark were blown away by the generous donation.
“The young people we support come from a variety of different backgrounds and many had never experienced a typical Christmas Day before.
“With the generous donation we were able to purchase gifts that they otherwise wouldn’t receive.”
“We were able to think thoughtfully about each young person and purchase a gift that meant something to them. Seeing the young people we support open their gifts on Christmas Day wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Saint-Gobain. Thank you for making their Christmas Day one to remember.”
