Newark man charged with assault after teen girl reportedly assaulted




A man has been charged after a young woman was reportedly assaulted in Newark.

The 16-year-old girl is understood to have sustained injuries to her face during the incident on Monday.

Danny Allen, 20, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded into custody.

Allen, of Fleming Drive, Newark, is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on May 24.

Detective Sergeant James Flint, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Nottinghamshire Police treats all reports of this nature extremely seriously and our officers will always act swiftly to do whatever is needed to keep people safe.

“We have now charged a man in connection with this reported incident and criminal proceeding are underway.”
