Newark man charged with threatening person with meat cleaver among six other offences




A Newark man has been charged with seven cross-border offences including threatening a person with a meat cleaver.

Christopher Webster, 30, of Victoria Street in Newark was arrested on Tuesday by Humberside Police.

He was detained in Brigg after information from Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Police was passed on.

Mr Webster is charged with two counts of threatening a person with a meat cleaver in Newark and in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire.

He has also been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and damage to property, along with robbery and attempted robbery.

Humberside Police have thanked Notts and Lincs Police for their help in the investigation.

They have urged any witnesses to come forward who may have seen an incident in the Aldi car park off Washdyke Lane in Immingham between 6 and 7pm on Tuesday July 23, to contact Humberside Police with any information.
