A video on social media appears to show an injured pigeon being kicked in Newark.
Police have condemned a video on social media showing an individual kicking a live pigeon.
Newark Police have been made aware of the video, where the bird already appears to be incapacitated and completely defenceless, in the incident which is believed to have taken place on Lime Grove, Newark on Monday.
A spokesman for Newark Police said: "There is absolutely no justification for this level of cruelty towards the bird, which is protected, as all British birds are by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981."
