Newark residents inspiring others to fundraise for Beaumond House
Beaumond House Hospice Care is grateful to its community for all the support and donations given and inspires others with volunteer fundraising stories.
Jennifer Marshall will start her once in a lifetime fundraiser at the end of the month as she goes up Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
After a two-year pandemic and long-term mental health effects, Jennifer decided to do something for herself, inspire others and raise money for Beaumond house.
She is hoping to raise at least £2,000 by the end of the journey.
“After everything we’ve all been through over the past two years, I wanted to challenge myself to do something meaningful and I’ve chosen to support Beaumond House because it’s such a well-loved and vital charity in Newark. I know that it supports so many people in our community and that it is in constant need of funding in order to continue its work.” she admitted.
Ian Jenkinson has now completed 100 miles as part of the C2C2 charity bike ride around Lincolnshire raising a total of £585.
“Back To Life Clinic has been supporting Beaumond House since 2018 with donations and free osteopathic treatments for staff.
“This year I wanted to get some of my customers involved as well so I pulled together a team to take on a 100 mile bike ride challenge to the coast and back. It was great to exceed our £500 target and we’ll be raising even more through the Dragon Boat race again later in the year”.
Later this year, the Robin Hood half marathon in September will count with the presence of Gail Knapton who will be running 13.1 miles, hoping to raise £350 for the hospice.
All the direct care services provided by the Beaumond House Hospice Care are free and all the fundraisers and volunteers and donations are vital for the maintenance of the centre.
