Newark scientist's book goes to print after crowd-funding success
A Newark scientist’s book has achieved its crowd-funding target and is set to be published.
Louis Keal gave up his job to write his book on climate change in time for the Cop26 climate change conference, due to take place in Glasgow in November.
The book, A Gift For Conversation: Let’s Discuss Climate Change, has met its target of 200 pre-orders worth £1,800. This means the book is able to have a first edition print-run.
Designed to be bought by people concerned about the climate crisis to give to people they know who aren’t, the book is designed as a conversation starter.
Louis said: “I think this unique way to help these difficult conversations has really resonated with people, which is why we passed the funding goal so quickly.”
The book will be available on Kickstarter until October 10 when it goes to print.
